There is no way this would work out for Rubio and Cruz. It is not 1850 anymore, the details of this deal would be the top story on every mainstream media outlet and blasted all over the internet. I suspect that the craven political nature of such a stunt would actually push more people to support Trump. Two faltering candidates making a backroom deal to derail the candidate that is currently the favorite of the voters is Washington insider politics at its worst and it just plays into Trump's narrative that Rubio is out of his league and Cruz is a lying, cheating scumbag.

Yes it matters. Put Cruz and Rubio's votes together and they stomp Trump in SC and tie him in Nevada where his camp committed voter fraud. Add to that the fact that Kasich voters second choice is Rubio and Carson voters second choice is Cruz, the two of them drop out, Rubio or Cruz pick up even more support and Trump is finished.

Did Rubio & Cruz have a secret meeting today? | RedState
If Cruz wins Texas, Rubio just needs to get out.

Rubio is losing his own state to Trump by 16 points. That means he’s out of it.

Rubio: how can a candidate so happy at coming 2nd or 3rd make America great/#1 again?

Nevada: Trump 45.9 Rubio 23.9 Cruz 21.4 Combine 23.9 + 21.4 = 45.3

45.3 is less than 45.9 according to the math I learned.

In SC, Trump had 33 and the combination of Cruz/Rubio had 44.

Unfortunately, anyone assuming that if one or the other had dropped out that ALL votes would have moved to the candidate still standing is only dreaming.

Rubio is set to do much better than Cruz. Cruz is in self-destruct. Rubio really wants the position and I believe for the right reasons, I could vote Trump/Rubio. Cruz is a loon and very dangerous so I vote he takes his toys and goes home.

Rubio might not even win his home state against Trump. Latest poll has him down 16. Cruz is leading comfortably in TX and will win. Rubio would fare better than Cruz in a general election but thats doesn't mean a thing if he can't even get the GOP nomination.

I can't believe they would do that. I do think it is time for them to perhaps work together, but for me, I just want to hear where the candidates stand. I don't care if they question each others policies but please lay off the personal attacks. This goes for all of them.
