Who else heard this in his speech today?

He trashed Trump and endorsed Kasich and everyone knows Kasich can't get elected.

Romney couldn't get elected twice, and now he's supposed to be a mouthpiece for the RNC?

Read Mitt Romney's Speech About Donald Trump

If you're a Trump supporter, did the Romney speech change your mind about Trump?

Take the poll...

He didn't endorse Kasich. He wants a brokered convention. He said vote for those who can beat Trump in each state...Rubio in Florida, Kasich in Ohio, etc.

And how is that going to be the best thing for the party?

He wants voters to choose anyone except Trump, and he did endorse Kasich, (as well as Rubio, and Cruz).

If Kasich can't win in his home state, there's a problem.

If Rubio can't win Florida - that would be a problem. He won his home state.

Same for Cruz in Texas.

It's time to stop the Trump bashing and get behind the man.

None of them can beat him in states except the states from which they hail.

Soooo Trump gets behind Romney in 2012 and Romney can't say enough good things about the brilliance of Trump then but jump forward to today and he is trashing Trump.

What has changed since 2012? Trump hasn't.

I think it is a pretty weak attempt by the GOP to topple Trump. He is the best chance to beat Hillary and when he does what will the GOP do? A business man remembers people who screwed with him on the way up the corporate ladder. I think Trump is a big enough man to forgive them if it will help the country.

Pretty weak Mitt.

I didn't hear his speech, but rest assured there is nothing that silly man could say that would sway me at all, period.

I'll have to look for it on YouTube. I'm bored and need a good laff.

It was pretty pathetic.

The original post #1 has the text on the Time webpage link.

GOP turnout has been way up and it is due to Trump's candidacy. The establishment is telling the voters what to do. So they are basically calling the GOP voters "stupid."

Didn't sway me at all. I hadn't really decided who I was voting for, but the more the establishment republican party keeps ignoring what their own voters want the more likely I will vote for Trump just to send them the finger. Seriously, that is why people are so mad. They don't listen to their own voters.

I read Mitt's speech and must say it was compelling. Romney is a brilliant man and a decent man. He predicted foreign threats that have happened and Obama never saw coming. Mitt would have been a much better president than Obama.

As to the Trump speech, Romney is likely right on every point of criticism about this man. I agree with Romney. Unfortunately, the Republican voters, so far, haven't.

Edited to add I voted for Rubio.

It's pretty much too late at this point. Trump will be the GOP nominee. The best the GOP can do at this point is PR damage control.

Here's what Election 2016 is going to look like:

I'm not voting or either one. Gary Johnson for President!!
