The United States has now spent more money reconstructing Afghanistan than it did rebuilding Europe at the end of World War II. Billions have been squandered on projects that were either useless or sub-standard, or lost to waste, corruption, and systemic abuse,

1. $486 million for 'deathtrap' aircraft that were later sold for scrap at $32,000

2. $335 million on a power plant that used just 1 percent of its capacity.

3. Almost $500,000 on buildings that 'melted' in the rain.

4. $34.4 million on a soybean program for a country that doesn't eat soybeans.
("They didn't grow them, they didn't eat them, there was no market for them, and yet we thought it was a good idea,")

5. One general's explanation why 1,600 fire-prone buildings weren't a problem.

6. A $600,000 hospital where infants were washed in dirty river water.
Cash Buys Medieval Hospital in Afghanistan.

7. $36 million on a military facility that several generals didn't want.

8. $39.6 million that created an awkward conversation for the U.S. ambassador.

9. $3 million for the purchase — and then mystery cancellation — of eight boats.

10. $7.8 billion fighting drugs — while Afghans grow more opium than ever.

11. $7.8 million on a nearly-empty business park.

12. $81.9 million on incinerators that either weren't used or harmed troops.
( likely additional money paid for VA disability claims )

This is how politicians spend money. Not a care in the world, no oversight and who went to Jail for it ?

What business person would run an operation like this ? Iraq was as bad or worse. Yet no one can find a reason for the tax payer anger. We're all just fat dumb and happy when this is done because it's done looking presidential. WTF
That doesn't take in to consideration all we are set to spend on nation building. What could we have done with that money to build infrastructure here in the USA ?

All you listed there adds to about 1 billion. Not even 1% of the 300 billion he said he is cutting.
The two big expenses in the budget are the military and Social security/ Medicare . Without touching those two you aren't making a dent unless you add more money to the pot with taxes.
That's why no one has done anything about it.

Unfortunately, much of the American money in Afghanistan has been misspent or thrown at projects without first judging their viability or necessity.

For example, a $2.89 million storage facility has gone unused for over a year. This goes to show that the U.S. solution of throwing money at problems, both domestically and internationally, has its limitations. Using money effectively to come up with desired outcomes is more important than spending large amounts of it on token projects.

Stupid leaders are running the show (both president and congress) what can you do?

For your information, just because you say you are not part of the establishment, doesn't mean you really are not. Just becaue you are hated by the establishment, doesn't mean you are not part of it. LOl (hint hint, Ted Cruz)

Trump is New York real estate establishment, but Trump is NOT washington or Republican party establishment. in all fairness (and you don't have to vote for him, but at least acknowledge this) Trump is the only candidate who is not part of the two party establishment.

Don't fool yourself, there are many businesses that are profitable because of illegal immigrants, which is why it has been going on forever.
Now I don't know where you got that number from, but that's not going away if you want to enforce the borders with walls, guards, check on businesses hiring them etc. that's not free.

That is not the complete list and you would know that if you read the link. Some don't read links so I listed 12 only as examples.

Hillary has said she is going to create jobs by building infrastructure here in the USA. She has to use tax payer money to do that. How will that not put us deeper in the hole/whole as she spells it ?

Not that I'm trying to justify it or trying to suggest there wasn't waste but that is a misleading statement.

Firstly all of the funds used in Europe were for reconstruction, 60% of the funding for Afghanistan was used to arm and train Afghan troops.

More importantly the European funding was about 5% of GDP, Afghanistan was something like .5%

The cost of all that is given or use by illegals is not free either.

Regarding infrastructure, yes is costly. But it will eventually have to be done, when our country is no longer competitive or enjoyable to be living in because our bridges, dams etc are falling apart. You think everyone will just say ok let them all fall apart we can't afford it'? This whole fat cats are making biggest profits ever?

I'm not for illegal immigration, I just think that there are reasons those people are coming here and until we address those issues here and where they are coming from, they will still come.

So if NBC News can do this and you can do this, what do we need Trump for? Easy to identify waste. Much more difficult to fix it, and Trump seems oblivious to the law and the way government actually works.
