Taking a break from more serious conservation about the candidates, thought I'd view the candidates' Twitter feeds and also to urge Rubio and Kasich to drop out before the 15th so Cruz and Trump could duel it out. The reason I'm posting this is I found the following stats interesting to note:
Followers and Likes:
------------------------------
Cruz 899,000 739
Kasich 219,000 728
Rubio 1.3 million 1801
Trump 6.7 million 70
Yes, that's correct, Trump has had 70 likes. Something else interesting to note is that Trump's Twitter account for his presidential run was set up in 2009. I'm going to double check that but I'm pretty sure that's what it listed. I did not notice at the time when the other candidates set their accounts up, but in fairness will check that also. Could be they wanted to reserve the rights to that account name.
Having said that, I have to wonder about Trump's 6.7 million followers. Especially since he only has 70 likes, which isn't much compared to the other candidates.
Rubio has the most likes, so his Twitter strategy has been good at least.
Normally that sort of thing wouldn't mean much to me, but the disparity in likes is very telling, especially since Trump has so many followers. Makes me think many of his followers just want to be entertained. If that's the case with his voters in general they may be more easily swayed to vote for someone else than supporters of other candidates.
Your thoughts? I don't mean the snarky kind, but what relevance does this hold in your opinion? In mine, after reading some of Trump's tweets, I'd say he should have had a better person tweeting things out. Bad strategy to mock people as much as he has. Turns a lot of voters off. Some like it, but probably not enough in the long run for him to win.
