I was just sitting and thinking yesterday while a replay of the debates was on in the background and realized that the question is really the following:
Which do y'all prefer for as a Presidential Candidate?
1.One that doesn't tell you much about what they stand for and what they'll do when in office, instead they talk in generalities and everything else.
2. One that has detailed steps/plans that sound logical but are in reality total lies and/or not even close to what will actually be attempted or happen in reality?
In general I look for someone who I can agree with on most issues big picture wise. I don't pay attention to specific promises because I am a pragmatist and a cynic. They're only going to get part of what they want done anyway, and if they're campaigning they are likely lying about what's possible. For me, it's more like can this person make steps in a direction I generally agree with.
For that reason I'd probably pick number 2. I cannot deal with not knowing where someone stands on big picture things.
But in real life, I might write someone else in. LOL
Where did it say #1 was honest though? It said #1 was vague and doesn't really tell you what he/she believes. It's like voting for air. LOL
Well if the air is clean and we can breath it that's a good thing. Now if your getting your water from Flint Mi. that could be a problem in the future with your ability to understand and reason.

This one, because every president gets lampooned, attacked and denigrated by some groups at some point during the term for not doing what they said they would do. Why? Because it's impossible to accomplish everything; Congress and many other roadblocks stand in the way. They go in as idealists and leave as hardened realists. But I'd much rather have someone going in with concrete ideas -- which may or may not be realized, not always due to the president.
I really don't think people become president with lies in their mind. I think they have good intentions and really want to help, because it's probably the most unforgiving job in the country. You have to be pretty passionate about your beliefs to put up with daily, sometimes hourly microscopes aimed at you and knowing, going in, that for at least four years, many people will hate you just "because."
