No POTUS fulfills all campaign promices. Sometime Congress will not play ball, including when the majority favors the president. And sometimes they do not even try.
They have to be careful.

They can and did easily "stand their ground" when it comes to most of Obama's policies that went against the core of conservatism, but they will be hard pressed to stand in the way of getting the very things done that they supposedly campaigned on.

Billionaires, tech CEOs and top members of the Republican establishment flew to a private island resort off the coast of Georgia this weekend for the American Enterprise Institute's annual World Forum, according to sources familiar with the secretive gathering.

The main topic at the closed-to-the-press confab? How to stop Republican front-runner Donald Trump.

Among social networking billionaires were Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), political guru Karl Rove, House Speaker Paul Ryan,

"The key task now, to once again paraphrase Karl Marx, is less to understand Trump than to stop him," Kristol wrote.
Yet, from the linked article "Sources familiar with the meeting -- who requested anonymity because the forum is off the record -- said that much of the conversation around Trump centered on 'how this happened, rather than how are we going to stop him,' as one person put it.

This is an annual meeting and discussion of Trump is only part of the event.

Take a deep breath.

Did I ever say that? OF COURSE these meetings have been happening for a very long time. Wow, you can't read.

The attack ads slamming Trump on TV lately are all sponsored and paid for by anonymous PAC's seeking to preserve the government 'they' bought and paid for. But, do people really notice or think about what that means??

The question remains: Is the anger of the American public over the corruption in Washington greater (and will it last longer) than the greed of those who get wealthy at the public trough; or the will of their minions who exist on public 'freebies' - provided by those who work?

Based on the past two elections and what is still going on in Washington now, I suspect it's going to be an uphill battle. Can the American public overcome the greed and manipulation of the 'elites' and the PAC's who own them? (and are they smart enough to even know the difference?)

Lightbulb Meeting on private island between social network billionaires and GOPe leaders on how to stop Trump

The GOP primary campaign this season has been wonderfully amusing.

If the fatcats find a way to derail Trump, the fallout will be entertaining beyond belief. Particularly if Trump shows up in Cleveland with the most delegates but short of the 1237 required. Especially if Trump goes ahead and gets his name on the ballot as a 3rd party alternative to whoever the professional Pubs decide to anoint as "their boy."

Of course, they may be thinking that they have nothing to lose. Other than the senate and then Pres. Hillary appointing a flaming lib to fill Scalia's place on the court. The weeping and whining from the right in that case would provide epic entertainment.

You said that everyone should be concerned hat such a meeting was taking place, by which I took you to mean that you thought there was something unusually dire occurring.

Glad to know that's not the case.

Just because it's been happening doesn't mean it isn't unusually dire. It's becoming common knowledge and the American people are poised to do something about it through electing Trump.

Electing Trump will change the rules of Washington right down to every last billionaire who controls it. At least for awhile.

Does it amuse anyone besides me that we're here discussing a SECRET meeting on the internet, in an open forum for the entire world to read? Jeez, if there really were a secret meeting, we wouldn't know about it.
