I find it hard to believe we could be in this position in our great nation. 4 candidates reasonably in the running now...an avowed socialist that can't do math, perhaps the most corrupt politician in US history, a reality TV star and a religious nut that seems to have few real convictions. I love this country, can't believe it's coming down to this. What does our future hold when these are the choices WE pick?

Crazy isn't it!

More often than not, the best people who would be President, have no real interest in running for the office and desire to experience the dog and pony show that is Presidential elections.

Whats wrong with a new FDR or Truman like Bernie Sanders? The policies he fights for are the same as the great social democratic presidents of the past. A straight shooter with both compassion and chutzpah who serves the people instead of the big money donor class. Just what the patient ordered IMO.

Because like sander's mentions, we have a congress that answers to money, not the people, and he'd get little to none of his agenda accomplished.

Regardless, if sander's somehow got the nomination, I think he would do some good in getting some of the dem party leadership on the unemployment line.

Oh heck, Bernie is a goofy old loon that will promise anyone free chit for a vote. He doesn't have a clue how to pay for his promises. And isn't smart enough to figure out that taking things from people that earned them and giving them to people that didn't...is a bad idea. But anyone that wants to steal...without making the effort to do it themselves loves the guy. Still, he is right about some things. Our corrupt government and the use of tax law, rules and regulations to attack some businesses, while propping up others, taking from some and enriching others (campaign donors) is just wrong. Same thing Ayn Rand complained about 60 years ago.

And Clinton is running as an Obama 3rd term and at the same time claims she will be so great in working with the Republicans and get stuff done for the benefit of the people...OK, sounds legitimate.

I would much rather have a person in charge who we know will fight and rally the people for real change and call out any member of Congress who serve the special interests and refuses to listen to the will of the people. The big money donor class holds as much power as the people allow them to hold and electing someone with compassion, integrity and ambition is a good start to change it.

We always have to weigh the positives with the negatives in a candidate and we cant agree with a candidate on everything. If you want to see anyone being able to run for elected office without having to grovel the rich and the powerful for money to do it, then Bernie is the best opportunity to see that change. You can disagree with him on everything else but if we dont get big money special interests out of politics, we have no democracy left soon.

The problem with your screed is "WE pick". We don't pick. We never have.

Just check your ballot for Trump if you're hellbent on voting.

Entertainment wise he won't disappoint and we're all screwed anyway!

Why refer to Trump as a reality TV star rather than a successful business mogul? Don't the first six decades of his life before 2008 count? And better a success at his TV show than a failure.
