Kasich is by far more of a nuisance for Cruz than for Trump. From a different perspective, Kasich is the Establishment's way of giving Cruz the middle finger.

That said, as we saw with Rubio, Trump is able to drive people to the point they want to quit politics all together. There's a point where no amount of money can keep people in the race. If Kasich poses threats to Trump, there won't be any second thoughts on draining Kasich of his mental/physical health.

Kasich has 0% chance of winning the nomination on the 1st ballot and 0% chance of being on the 1st ballot as that requires the majority of delegates in 8 states and he has only accomplished that in 1 state. He is not going to win any additional states. It's really selfish of Kasich to stay in the race at this stage.
Rule 40 you speak of was for the 2012 convention. The 2016 convention delegates will adopt whatever rules they want. 2012 rules are not even a precedent. . . . they will have no effect whatsoever.

Once the delegates are unbound, Kasich has a fighting chance.

That's not dirty pool, that's following the rules. Trump's expecting to win the nomination without getting a majority of delegates would be dirty pool .. or ignorant pool.
There has never been a candidate nominated that didn't manage to win more than 1 state during the primary. Not even close. Kasich = unelectable

There has never been a candidate nominated that only won 1 state East of the Misisisippi. Not even close. Cruz = unelectable.

IMO, this knocks both Cruz & Kasich out of the race and they should have been gone by now. Cruz is only supported by fringe elements of the GOP base, Kasich apparently isn't supported by anyone at all. If the RNC wants to win this election, they will quit playing games with these two unelectable politicians, send them home, and and redirect their efforts to beating Hillary.

Yep and the RNC will nominate Kasich. I bet the RNC told Kasich that if he won his state, they would get him the nomination. Look at Kasich's victory speech after the Ohio primary. Something tells me that he is just a bit too gleeful.

Kasich is banking on RNC but i don't think they'll pick either Cruz or Casich.

When has a party given the nomination to a candidate who has only won 1 contest?...and the ONLY reason Kasich has won 1 contest its because he is the sitting governor of his state and he has the state political machine in his pocket......if he wasn't the sitting governor of Ohio, he be ZERO in the winning column.

The whole thing is a circus and a joke.
