Oh, I think Trump could well be the nominee, but his chances of winning the general election are minimal... fortunately.

Cruz supporters don't understand how a contested convention works.

There is no way 1237 will go to Cruz.

Trump will clinch before convention. Trump will have around 1180 to 1200 after voting. There will be 300 unbound delegates to get. Trump will only need 40 or 60, which is easy.

If it did go to a contested convention - and Trump somehow couldn't get40 to 60 delegates out of 300. Even after 2 or 3 ballots (extremely unlikely).

If it gets to a 4th ballot. Anything goes. It wont be Cruz on any ballot. Definitely not. Cruz is being used by Washington - Cruz has no chance.

If Trump (who will be maybe 40, 60 short tops) - somehow doesn't win.

Nikki Haley most likely, or maybe Paul Ryan. Outside shot at Jeb or even Michael Bloomberg.

Trump would go 3rd party.

Trumps 3rd party threats are enough to sway 60 delegates before convention.

Bottom line - in this lifetime - 1237 delegates will not go to Cruz. The only reason Trump will get 1237, is because he will start with at least 1180 bound delegates on June 8th. So Trump has a tremendous advantage.
