WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton's crushing losses in Maryland and Virginia highlight an erosion in what had been solid advantages among women, whites and older and working-class voters. While this week's results can be explained by those states' relatively large numbers of blacks and well-educated residents - who tend to be Barack Obama supporters - her presidential campaign could be doomed if the trends continue.

Poor poor Hillary. What happens to those of us who are well-educated voters who still want to vote for her? Are we shot and executed or what? Is this like the Soviet Union now?

Most of the educated and rich democrats support Obama. Of course they are elites and hence 'evil' .

You know what's really funny is that I see this as kind of being like the Reagan/Carter elections where Carter led in the polls all the way up until the elections -- then Reagan won.

I think McCain will win since nobody seems to care what us Clinton voters think. Obama is the cool kid and McCain is the falling-apart Reagan guy... And it seems like -- to me -- most of the Clinton voters are going to vote McCain due to experience. They aren't going Obama which is what media thinks everyone is going to do.

Experience counts. Most of us voting for Clinton are doing so because of experience, not for other reasons, so it only makes sense that McCain would be our second choice.

Too funny!

Don't fool yourself. Lots of educated Democrats are voting for Hillary. The ultra rich Democrats are voting for Obama but I haven't figured out why yet. What is he promising them? Must be something that Hillary isn't. We'll find out later if either one of them get elected.

Hey UB50 when Hillery does not get the nomination, and is not our next President, and you realize that you came on here and made a fool of yourself.. don't expect anyone to pat you on the back or offer you a shoulder to cry on. Expect a lot of finger pointing and laughter at your expense.

Ron Paul supporters know the feeling ask them.. they maybe able to thicken your skin before November comes around.

i do not know why you feel the need to be disrespectful to people who support their particular candidate. everyone has reasons why they pick their candidate based on their own research. i respect that people see that our country has serious problems and are trying to get information out on why their candidate is the best choice. the more information on all the candidates the better!

Don't confuse "well educated" with "rich" though!

"Well educated" could mean a doctoral degree in Art history or Sociology. THAT sort of "well educated" means years engrossed in the sort of "out of touch" ivory tower mentality that will get you a VERY particular intellectual perspective that will very much favor an Obama candidacy coupled with a $30k/year income. Plus it already shows you have a predisposition towards the 'fluff' in life, lol.

Wrong.

Exit polls show that Obama does very well with the rich and educated Democrats - the type making more than $100K a year. I bet these are not the liberal arts/fluffy types that you deride. They are more likely to be professionals, business owners, and the like. These are the types of people who make at least $100K in the US.
