Given that our current unfunded liabilities of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid amount to nearly $60 Trillion dollars, has anyone performed a financial analysis on either Obama's or Clinton's Healthcare plans?

Can we afford what they are proposing? This is an honest question. And please do not bring up Bush's military spending. I am against that. I just want to know if we can really afford universal health-care coverage.

And also, don't you think you should be responsible for your own life and not ask other people to pay for your needs?

For those questioning what OP says, the GAO's Comptroller General has already spelled out that we can't pay what we have already promised for future obligations.

Thanks paperhouse.... all great links.

It seems that Americans have been imbued with Socialist brainwashing? Doesn't anyone realize that socialism requires the government (mafia) to forcibly take money from someone to give to someone else? When did the US become Socialist?!?

Do you have insurance? You do know that if you have insurance, "other people" are helping to pay for your needs when you use the coverage, right? Otherwise, do you have an extra $30,000 you can spend if you need elective surgery?

The Obama plan will be expensive and either taxes will have to be increased, or spending must be cut elsewhere. Still, Obama is the best Democratic option.
Not really a ringing endorsement.

God! No national 'free' or 'partly free' or 'affordable but not free with goverment help' health care.

Health care is not a right.
I don't know what makes people think that insurance rates will go down and stay down if everyone is covered----forced or otherwise. Its a complete fantasy or 'fairy tale' as Bill clinton would call it.

Medicare in deficit, Social secuity to got in deficit, $1 trillion dollar war and a $9 trillion debt.............
