And despite that, Hillary still can't put him away.

I think Sanders blew it. His campaign should have had a tacit understanding with the Trump campaign that they would focus on areas where they had commonality and and the rest of the time both he and Trump would have just attacked Hillary on the areas they both disagree. Trump could have attacked her on the emails since Sanders was staying clear of this issue.

The whole idea would have been for Sanders to get exposure to a huge audience especially in California in a debate that would have had record viewership which might have enabled him to win the primary.

No matter what happens in California and the remaining primaries, he was not going to win the nomination because of pledged delegates. His goal would have been to give Hillary a black eye by beating her and then hope that at the convention some of the super delegates might switch to him.

Trump had nothing to gain in getting into a real debate with Sanders given that he (Trump) is not exactly the best debater and was not going to let himself be beat up in a debate against someone who was not even likely to win the nomination.

Was there a general election that only you know about? Or is this just part of the little fantasy world you live in?

Hillary still can't put Bernie away. Sounds like he might even win California. If so, it will be a huge gut punch to Hillary. Shows that she is a weak flawed candidate.

Chicken **** Trump is too afraid to face Sanders in a one-on-one. He knows he will be annihilated in a real debate, facing one candidate that actually understands and can speak to the issues. He'll probably try to weasel out of debates this fall for the same reason.

LOL, his followers actually believed this was going to happen. "Great political move!" and "Brilliant!" they claimed.

Just when I thought trumpettes couldn't look any more foolish...

She already did put Bernie away. He just won't admit it in public yet.

Typical. Sanders would have won hands down. He actually understands how government and policies work, and also has financials to back up his policies. Trump still has no policies.

Trump clinched just yesterday.

If Cruz and Kasich were still in the race, would it be fair to say that Trump can't put them away? It's not up to Trump or Clinton to decide if someone has enough sense of futility to drop out.
