That's obviously because Kristol was expressly putting him up solely for the purpose of stealing votes from Trump. No one, including Kristol or French, thought French could win the election against Trump, Hillary or even Gary Johnson or Jill Stein. This speaks for itself.

LOL....no one thought he was actually running anyway. It was just an attempt to drive up clicks, readers, etc for National Review.
