Hillary Clinton’s Democratic rivals are now faulting her for joking (sort of joking, anyway) during the Democratic debate that she is proud of the fact that she has made “enemies” out of Republicans. The candidates had been asked: “Which enemy are you most proud of?” Clinton responded by citing a predictable litany of bad guys (the NRA, the drug and health insurance companies) before adding, with a big grin: “probably the Republicans.”

Today, Joe Biden responded with this:

“I really respect the members up there and I still have a lot of Republican friends. I don’t think my chief enemy is the Republican Party. This is a matter of making things work.”

This was apparently not a throwaway line. Biden said something very similar yesterday: “I don’t consider Republicans enemies. They’re friends.”

I know they've been a reduced threat since May 2, 2011.

No more 9/11s since Dubya left office. Seems the terrorists we have popping up these days are domestics, like Orlando and San Bernadino.

Lotsa overseas terrorists smoked in drone strikes.

Since when did 2004 become 2011?

There is always a threat.

Do I feel safer? In some ways, yes; in some ways, no. The border is still unsecured but I feel safer when a Republican is president because they don't refer to someone who wants secure borders as a "bigot."

Back to the thread title I agree that if he can play his cards right Trump may emerge and be stronger and continue to show that obama is a schill and hillary is corrupt he may rise above the fray. sad day people sadder that the feckless POTUS has no idea what to do about it....probalby thinking about next back nine.
