Anyone voting for Trump is expert at polishing a turd.

Whichever candidate wins, there's going to be a rush on polish across the nation. Better stock up now before the shelves go empty.

I think Jill Stein (Green Party) is more comparable to Bernie Sanders in terms of worldview than Hillary Clinton, but pitifully she's not even allowed on the ballot in many states (which is a whole other problem/discussion).

I think Clinton would be the most likely to pivot her values back and forth in terms of what she stands for in order to see an outcome that she likes. This can either be seen as having no backbone/principles or as willing to compromise to get things done for your constituents. In Clinton's case, I don't see this helping her because in the climate we're in, she's not likely to gain the respect of the Republican party by compromising. And Trump obviously doesn't believe in compromise, it's the winner take all bravado with him with everything. So realistically, an improvement in the gridlock that results in things not getting done doesn't look promising with either candidate.

Both Clinton and Trump share the common trait of being authoritarian/statists (both domestically and internationally) in how they would do things.

I think the OP's switching from Bernie to Hillary is what we are going to see across the board, and NEP321's post makes a lot of good points and sense. Once those Bernie votes swing over to Hillary, it will be curtains for Donnie Boy.

I feel bad for those who supported Bernie, he really gave Hillary a run for the money. I did not follow him much, but he must have made some very good points or so many people would not have supported him. It is also nice to see that his supporters are big enough to accept fate and are ready to move on with a positive attitude. Now, Bernie needs to to the right thing for the party and for himself, and close this out with honor and dignity. He seems like a super nice guy, and a fighter, but he just needs to accept that this battle is over.

I am surprised, or maybe not, that anyone that supported Bernie only to learn that the DNC would NEVER have let him win, is going to support Hillary. For me, a "label" does not trump honesty and integrity. 'Guccifer 2.0' claims responsibility for the DNC hack, promises new leaks - Business Insider

The DNC made fools of the people that supported Bernie. Imagine how they sat around watching just laughing. Yeah, you go ahead and continue to support the "label" and let them continue to manipulate you.

Though Bernie and his supporters may imagine that by postponing the inevitable, they still have cards to play that will influence the party platform and the nation's agenda, I am at a loss at imagining how that would happen. The only card he has to play is conceding and "uniting the party" and there is an expiration date on that.

The most likely scenario moving forward:

1) Hillary wins the nomination in the first round. She announces her VP choice and Democrats rally around them.

2) Bernie gives a speech at the convention that is politely ignored. He would be wise to get used be being politely ignored as I suspect committee appointments and opportunities to caucus with Democrats will become increasingly rare.

3) Hillary will beat the Donald like a bass drum as voters, including current Bernie supporters, are horrified at the prospect of electing a President who advocates war crimes, shooting Muslims with bullets dipped in pigs blood, and who knows what else he'll announce today.

4) Bernie will eventually return to carrying out his duties as a senator, but will remain on the sidelines where he has been for the past 25 years.

The only thing the Clintons have accomplished is making $153M for themselves at the expense of the middle class and with the assistance of Obama have made the top 1% wealthy beyond what they had ever imagined. Percentage of U.S. wealth owned by the top 1% had moved from 35% to 50% thanks to Clinton's repeal of Glass-Steagall and the Free Slave Treaties.

Clinton supporters are fine with more of the same. This is what Bernie and his supporters were suppose to be fighting against.

You think Bernie had a shot at wrestling that money away from. the top 1%?

Dare to dream.

As the only senator who supported Bernie's presidential race is now supporting Hillary, it would be difficult to imagine how, even if elected, he could form coalitions to change any of this.

These deals are not free and they are not trade. They are investment schemes meant to shift power and leverage away from workers towards large multinational corporations. Who do you think write these deals? Corporate lawyers and lobbyists with no input from unions. No one is against trade. But it must be a balanced approach, not a scheme to weaken worker's rights and democracy!

Qualified? Why is this suddenly so important for people who love Obama who had hardly any experience at all and they believe he was great.

1) The FBI has given immunity to the computer expert at the State Dept. who worked under Hillary and was paid personally by Hillary to set up the server at her home for his testimony. The FBI takes their time especially when Hillary deleted over 30,000 emails. For you to say why would the FBI make a recommendation to indict after 15 months of investigation shows how clueless you are in how the FBI operates. This isn't an episode of LAW and Order that everything gets wrapped up in 1 hour or 1 t.v. season.

2) Voting for a person because of what they have between their legs has to be one of the most ignorant things I heard.

3) Have you ever look closely at Hillary's record in the senate and secretary of state?.....if you did you wouldn't say the ignorant remark that she is 1000% qualified.....qualified on what? being bought off by Wall Street, banks and foreign countries who donated millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation for government access and government contracts?......the most qualified selling the people's interests to the highest bidder.....the most WAR HAWK candidate in both parties?

4) Hillary was rejected by her party in 2008 because of her record in the senate......what has she done as secretary of state that made her all of the sudden "the most qualified person" to be president?.......so in 2008 hillary wasn't a good choice but now she is? LOL......based on what? that she perfected the selling out of America and filling her pockets.

what a joke some people are!
Absolutely.

Read 1-4 again OP.
