Very interesting results.

In a primary battle this week, Charlie Rangel's hand picked successor, Keith Wright, was defeated by a Latino. Al Sharpton just recently shared this wisdom about the contest.

Wright was also supported by civil-rights leader Al Sharpton, who cast opponents of Wright as “negroes you ain’t never seen before.”

Dems seem to have to inject race into all politics. Guess it is in their makeup.

Out in Colorado, appointed, one term Dem Senator Michael Bennet faces Darryl Glenn, an African American conservative who surprised the Colorado Republican Party by winning his spot in the primary at the part's convention, then winning the primary election.

Quote:
Glenn, a fiery conservative who won the backing of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, now becomes the Republican standard-bearer in one of the GOP’s only Senate pickup opportunities this year.

Interesting times we live in. More and more Uncle Joses, Uncle Toms and Aunt Jemimas surfacing. The CBC may be losing it's punch and intimidation as the old civil rights era leadership dies off. The Congressional Latino Caucus may be the new big stick for Dems.

Meanwhile, at the local and state level, a broader and more widely representational group of Republican officials are running and winning.

I'm not surprised he nearly lost to a Latino in the last two elections. He only one the last time because he encouraged another candidate to stay in and split the vote. It was obvious that is the way his district was swinging.

It's a shame with Colorado though. The GOP could have won the election with a moderate candidate. Now they are poised to have another Sharon Angle incident. This basically leaves Nevada as their only pickup opportunity.

So Rangels successor was defeated by a Latino and he said “negroes you ain’t never seen before"?

"the people wanted the person they thought would do the best job?"

But it's not unexpected that he had to turn it into a race thing

Not necessarily. Inexperience does not always equate to a loss. How about we let the election play out? Being appointed by a Dem Governor and running for his first election is no cinch either. Unknowns on both sides.

Leftist Nightmare: Black Conservatives Running for Office...

Leftist's greatest fear is for the masses to hear blacks expressing love for their country; saying they don't hate or resent fellow Americans who are white; blacks who don't believe they are owed anything and succeeded without democrats lowering standards or government.

Liberal mainstream media have done an excellent job keeping black conservatives off American's radar.

Requires paying attention before responding. Al Sharpton said it, and he was using another code for Uncle Tom, 'negro'. Sharpton used it as a pejorative, so yes he is the one who injected race in the contest.

As in, You're not really Black or African American, if you support a non-Black.

Or, did you just want to attack me personally?

I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean, was Rangel insulting both blacks and Latino's? Hey Wright and Rangel, how about this....

"the people wanted the person they thought would do the best job?"

Leftists claim to be advocates for blacks.

Given the epidemic of black school dropouts, fatherless households, unemployment, and crime plaguing urban blacks, one would assume Leftists would celebrate Herman Cain as a role model of what can be achieved via hard work and right choices.

No, but being backed by the Tea Party and Ted Cruz doesn't bode well in a moderate state typically. This is Bennets second election as well. He won in 2010 against a hard right conservative during a Republican wave. What are the chances he will lose in a general where the composition is less favorable to the GOP than in 2010?

Just FYI, Bennet is running for re-election. He was first elected in 2010 when he defeated Ken Buck another TEA-partier.
