Yeah, and if you read it on the internet it must be true, right?

If a federal person is working with a bunch of people making over $100K, they are working at a level that has a lot of responsibility, training and educational requirements, etc. In many agencies, they may be overseeing the actions of contractors, whose staff make more money than they do at equivalent responsibility levels. The vast majority of federal employees are too busy to be surfing the net, watching movies, two hour lunches, and coming to work late.

There are some lazy folks in the feds, as in any large organization, but most federal employees are not there to rip off the public. They are there because the pay and benefits are decent, just like anyone who selects a specific job in a specific industry. Geez.

What do you think about the U.S. Military enlisting illegal immigrants and the ongoing downsizing of all branches of the Armed Forces?

Makes sense?
On 25 September 2014, the Department of Defense announced an expansion of the program known as Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI). Under MAVNI, a small number of non-citizens in the United States (i.e., those who came to the United States as children and grew up in the U.S. without legal status or otherwise hold non-immigrant visa or asylee/refugee/TPS status and have been granted deportation deferrals) are eligible to enlist in the U.S. military, with the goal of becoming naturalized U.S. citizens by the time they graduate from ten weeks of Basic Training.

MAVNI is not a new program suddenly opening military service up to potentially dangerous foreign nationals, however. Started in 2008 under the administration of President George W. Bush, the initiative recruits individuals who emigrated to the U.S. with their parents before the age of 16; specifically, it now targets persons approved under the 2012 Deferred Action for Child Arrivals (DACA) program. The goal of MAVNI is to locate and enroll people with specialized skills, particularly highly valued medical and linguistic skills, for military service to the U.S.

Under MAVNI, those who emigrated to the U.S. as children will be eligible for military service should they fit the necessary skills profile.

This means they're filling peculiar slots that would otherwise not be filled by anyone, so even with forces generally downsizing, those slots may still exist.

Actually, her two cents has everything to do with your point. People with professional degrees and experience make decent pay, in or out of the federal government. This person, who actually works in the federal government, is explaining to you that what you read on the internet is not an accurate portrayal of the civilian employees in the federal government. That, again, is completely related to your point.

Coming from a military family ~ I feel Trump has the best chance of getting us into war with his thin skin, thoughtless comments, and praise for violence and torture.

Therefore, I would never vote for him.

It isn't the children of politicians who will be going to war; it's OUR kids.

Who, specifically are they? What jobs are they not doing? Ever see anyone not doing their jobs in the federal government? I betcha you think everyone who works for the federal government is lazy, overpaid, and just sucking off the taxpayer teat, right?

Wow, I hope you never need a federal employee to help you out in any way... oh, wait, those lazy folks in the agencies that several people have posted (suggesting which ones you might want to get rid of) are indeed helping you out, every day.

The solution is simple, educate Trump Supporters.

I can't believe what people post here sometimes.
I'd rep you again if I could.

I've never said all federal employees are bad. You need to re-read my post. I think you just enjoy demonizing people when they disagree with you.

It is a forum.. People post, respond, post again. If my assumption that you felt that way is wrong, by all means, correct it.
