This is starting to resemble Goldwater in 1964; not that a rout of that magnitude is coming, because with our current degree of polarization it isn't feasible; but from the standpoint of Republican office holders openly withholding support.

“Today, I’m opposed to his campaign,” said Sen. Dean Heller of Nevada. “He did a lot of damage. It’s very difficult for him, as far as I’m concerned, to recover from his previous comments. I’ll give him a chance, but at this point, I have no intentions of voting for him.

Trump may be the first nominee in history to send the party reps/elite scurrying for cover. They are trying to avoided being tainted. No wonder Trump is soliciting Mike Tyson and Mike Ditka to speak in Cleveland. I wonder if David Duke will get a speaking slot too?

Ditka turned him down. How is Trump going to hire the best people if he can't even get a has-been football coach to speak at his convention?

That would be really bad news for the GOP's hopes of picking up Reid's seat. Ive also heard that the Colorado race is not looking to bright now either since a Tea Party candidate won the GOP nomination (memories of Sharron Angle, Todd Atkin, and Christine O'Donnell).

On MTP Daily, Chuck Todd said that due to support for Trump in the Reno area, NBC News has moved Nevada from Democratic Lean to Tossup.
