We badly need tax increases and even an economic idiot like McCain knows that!

no. i DON"T mind paying more taxes b/c taxes will invariably increase somewhere else like proprty taxes, state income, lack of funding for medicare/soc security, more endless borrowing from china, which is not good for the economy nor future generations

I agree. And the income tax is really the fairest of all taxes. It should be raised- especially for the rich. I would also double the capital gains tax on anybody making over $125,000 a year.

this is why i would have a hard time voting democratic in an election, even if i am very dissatisfied with the republicans. i don't want to pay more taxes and i am tired of people volunteering more taxes because they might want to pay them. nobody is stopping you from writing that extra check to the government right now!

yes, i understand your concern! i just think that politicians whould be more responsible in what they promise. they should sign a pledge or something like that saying that will do what is best for the country whenever they take office. if that is to raise taxes, then so be it. i don't like the idea of a politician just saying anything to get elected. - oxymoronish, i guess.

There you go again, raise it only on the people who are successful.

Give me a break.

Heck no, raise it on those who only make <40k per year and down and FORCE the low life free loaders to work so they can pay into it too. The you will never have to raise them again.

DEMORATS= HIGHER TAXES and FREEBIES TO THE LOSERS OF THE COUNTRY

125k per year, they are paying the percentage of all your taxes now Kev, what more do you want?

Put lazey butted people to work and force the other people who wont do anything to make more money to work a second or third job so they can pay to use my roads and bridges and libraries and schools.

I say if you are unemployed and on welfare you should NOT be allowed to vote. It will force people to stop voting for the idoits who will raise all taxes on those who do work and are successful.

No loser should be allowed to raise my taxes to pay for them being a loser.

So a few weeks ago you were all for McCain, what happened Kev?

you bring up some good points. EVERYONE should pay income taxes. I'm tired of seeing ppl with families pay nothing while i work my hump off. idiot bush even bragged about it in one of his state of the union addresses saying that the family of 4 who made $45k would pay NO income taxes. i say tax them the same way that you tax everybody else. what makes them so special? i think that kev was referring to the capital gains tax, which is a much lower rate than ordinary income, which happens to be used mostly by the "rich". why is that interest income is taxed as "ordinary" income while capital gains are taxed at a lower rate? a tax code should be concerned with spreading it out so that all classes pay something similar

Ok for those of you who believe everything your govt tells you like good little Sheep. The question of the day is: How much is too much? At what point would you get mad? 50% tax bracket? 70% tax bracket?

What do we get for our money? Nothing. We just lose more and more freedoms to the long arm of the oppressive giant who rules us with an iron fist.

War? What war? I thought a war was defined by a conflict of interests. This thing in Iraq is fake, phony and illegal. It was an act of revenge that had nothing to do with 9-11. Were there any Iraqies on any of those planes? There sure were a lot of Saudis and we did not invade them. By the way. I seem to recall the Dictator "The Decider" coming on national TV back about 4 years ago declaring victory. Why are we still there policing everyone else and to hell with our own?

If you enjoy giving your hard earned money to those bunch of clowns who do as they please with it and just waste it away without asking you if you approve then go ahead. So long as we do not yet have a 50% tax bracket you guys can still check off that box on your tax returns to donate to the deficet.

Have fun.
