Why did Hillary have a private server?

Why did she have her lawyers delete 30,000 emails, almost all of which can't be recovered?

Because she was using the State Department as her personal hedge fund, granting favors to foreign governments and companies (including U.S. companies) in return for contributions to the Clinton Foundation (which only seems to be there to enrich the Clintons) and to get lucrative speaking engagements for both Bill and herself.

The Clintons have always used their positions to enrich themselves -- and to hell with national security or any other consideration.

It's no accident that the Chinese got 80% of our nuclear secrets when Bill was president.

It is unfortunate that everything now that happens with Hillary's emails is crowded into this one thread at the top that is, at this point, not even related to the topic, while there are numerous anti-Trump threads on subjects being constantly regurgitated.

At this point, this subject isn't just one subject but branching out in numerous directions.

Hillary's ineptitude knows no bounds.

Here is something I do not understand, I worked in several different jobs as Federal Civil Service. Each job was covered by an SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) manual PLUS all we had notebooks of rules/regulations in each office regarding the function of the office and how everything was to be done. When you started on the job, someone always walked you through the important tasks.

So, how is it that inprocessing a soldier onto a Fort would be such a big deal with a new employee being subjected to so much info and SOS just showing up, no guidance, no training, no manuals on procedures?

Also, since Bill gave a pardon to someone for a similar case dealing with classified email, wouldn't it seem the procedure would have been looked at and someone realize training was necessary?

So, Hillary had to be really, really dumb not to claim she didn't have any idea how she was supposed to be doing her job, that she couldn't recognize what was classified and what wasn't............. She is obviously completely incompetent to do any job other than maybe housekeeper and probably not even that. So, is she playing dumb or is she just that darn dumb? Could it be dementia? Alcohol or other legal/illegal substances?

She is unfit for duty. Seriously, who would hire her to do anything?

She just doesn't care. No one is going to tell her what to do because she is Hillary. It's clinical narcissism if you want my opinion.

I would think the poor judgement on the server should have been a fair campaign issue. If the right had a suitable candidate it might have made a difference. But against Trump?

The right will not recover by smearing Clinton. They need a candidate which they do not have.
Smear? I notice you only use Obama and Hillary as examples of victims.
The private sector is much less forgiving of inept, careless and dishonest behavior. For that matter Hillary isn't exactly known for being compassionate towards her subordinates who make mistakes.
WE the people should be very critical of elected officials. We should hold them to the very highest of standards. The problem isn't that we are overly critical or that we hold them to a too high standard. It is that we treat politicians like royalty and turn a blind eye to their misdeeds, even when they are caught lying.
Do you think it was ok for Harry Reid to use the protection of the Senate floor to (smear) Romney and lie about Romney?
Do you feel that our elected reps should not be called out when we catch them lying, abusing power, careless behavior that can result in harm to our nation? Do you believe the excuse "others have done it too" is acceptable?
I dont.

Someone wrote a letter to the editor today in our paper, comparing the Clintons to the Underwood's in House of Cards. Unfortunately, not so far fetched.

Cite? Got any proof to back that up, or what? Speculation on your part doesn't count.

All that you need to copy and paste is the following section:

(f) Whoever, being entrusted with or having lawful possession or control of any document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch, photograph, photographic negative, blueprint, plan, map, model, instrument, appliance, note, or information, relating to the national defense, (1) through gross negligence permits the same to be removed from its proper place of custody or delivered to anyone in violation of his trust, or to be lost, stolen, abstracted, or destroyed, or (2) having knowledge that the same has been illegally removed from its proper place of custody or delivered to anyone in violation of its trust, or lost, or stolen, abstracted, or destroyed, and fails to make prompt report of such loss, theft, abstraction, or destruction to his superior officer—Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.

Now, let's break it down in terms of what Hillary did.

"Whoever (that would be Hillary), being entrusted with any document [ etc.] related to national defense (that would be the classified information in question), through gross negligence (Comey said that Hillary was "extremely careless"; how is that not the same as "gross negligence"?) permits the same to be removed from its proper place of custody (an unsecure server is not a "proper place of custody") or to be destroyed (Hillary's lawyers destroyed thousands of emails that the FBI claims it couldn't recover, but some of the ones it did recover contained classified information) and fails to make prompt report of such destruction (Hillary waited for years to report the destruction) to his superior officer (in Hillary's case, that would be Obama) shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years or both."

Following the statute, Hillary's only "out" is if she reported the destruction to Obama in a timely fashion.
The emails involved were created on the server system,,,not moved there. No one was entrusted with them. They created them on the system that had the server.
