Actually, maybe newt just said that because he secretly doesn't want to be trump's running mate? Especially odd, since he said it, I think, right after trump said that thing about newt having a big role in his government.
And, that thing about trump's party line... remember the old party lines on the phones? trump must have one and shares it will John Miller and John Baron and/or John Barron.
Well, it looks like newt wants to have it all - his own opinions, VP and all the work that goes with it in a trump administration - especially after trump decides he will just step down because, y'know, he won, and that is all that matters. So, newt could end up the real, rather than ersatz, president in the end. Wow, such clever planning on newt's part, eh?
Of course not. He's in the favored position to run as Trump's VP and I doubt that anything he says short of a personal insult aimed at the Donald would move him further back.

On the off-off-off chance Agent Orange is elected, be prepared for government shutdowns. Newt is a pro at those. I wonder how many posters remember that?
Oh, I do, fondly. I also remember the balanced budget and welfare reform forced upon a reticent President Clinton I. Newt just got a little too taken with himself as House Majority Leader. He was brought down by his own party. Happens with brilliant policy and political minds. They forget politics requires give and take at times.
Obama is like that, politically. It is much of the reason he has no relations with the congressional majority. He is a hell of a political, though. Policy, meh.

What do you think personal relations would be between Gingrich and Trump? They're both smart and both have huge egos. Gingrich has lots of political experience and instincts while Trump has virtually none. Does Trump want someone to do the job for him? Or does he want to order someone around? Would there be a lot of conflict?
Just curious about what you think.
