Economically it was more progressive under FDR but certainly not socially. Overall, the platform is light-years better for the working class, the disabled and the elderly than Trump. With Bernie as a leader in a Democratic Senate, a lot of great things can get done in 2017.

How anyone could be more bigoted than an authoritarian collectivist like Hillary is beyond me...

Oregon isn't a swing state, it will go blue in the election, like most states. Even if it was a swing state, I don't hold my nose when I vote so I would still vote for Jill Stein in an election over Hillary because I think she is a bad choice.

^^^ I'm pretty sure that's not the only thing "beyond" you if that's what you believe...

Thanks for letting everyone know you'd would have governed no differently than your predecessors, Burnie.

Assuming that the Dems capture the Congress. Nothing will get done without the House too, and that's where the real uphill battle will be. The GOP is not competitive in at-large type elections and high turnout elections. It's all about turnout. When Democrats show up, Republicans lose. Rest assured dont expect much out of Hillary. I don't

There only one I know who didn't sell out was Nader.

I suspect that was Bernie's goal all along.

It was very, very, very unlikely that this old Jewish leftist was going to capture the Democratic nomination especially since he wasn't even a Democrat until recently. He probably feared the Democrats moving too far to the right and saw his campaign as a way to engage the liberal base.

There is nothing like a few words in a platform to tie the hands of corrupt politicians. My guess is that Sanders got a lot more than that.

The platform has the potential to embarrass Obama a bit at most. Embarrassing Obama isn't really possible nor does it accomplish anything.
