I agree. I think she's too risk averse to take that big a chance. Floating his name is a ploy to attract the Republican foreign policy establishment.

Looks more and more like Tim Kaine.
Bureaucat, I really don't think it will be Tim Kaine, because many on the far-left would oppose such a choice. In fact, I have started a new thread on this very subject.

I just checked and can't find anything that says Secret Service provides protection for ex-spouses. Whew, that would have been a budget-buster.

Shows what "great people" Trump surrounds himself with. Also massively divisive. Poor choice.

He's one of those guys who looks ok from a distance, but as soon as he gets out there--he's kind of hated, as demonstrated in 2012. But, it would be good for the Dems.

VP Wannabe Newt Gingrich Still $4.6 Million in Debt - The Daily Beast

Newt Gingrich's Popularity Falling Fast | US News
He also has some strong pluses going for him as being a very experienced politician that knows Congress like the back of his hand. He will bring at least some republicans back to the Trump side.
Every prominent republican that's been in office and is well known is "kind of hated". It goes with the turf, including now Paul Ryan.
He's not going to lose Trump any votes with Blacks or Hispanics that weren't going to vote for him anyway, and after 8 years of Obama, a throw back to the 90s doesn't sound so horrible.

Why not, what's good for Bill has to be good for Newt...besides, at least the GOP won't end up spending 70 million of YOUR money proving he is getting blown.....which brings up a question, when Bill gets back, who does he go after first?

My money says Tigers don't change their stripes so, its got to be an intern....young, firm, attractive, funny, sexual, dresses in things other than pale blue pants suits.......everything Hillary has never been, nor will ever be......who can blame him?

He's going to be riding the next wave of interns like SeaBiscuit. Yeaaaah!!!!!!!!

I thought it would be Gingrich, but now I'm not so sure. It's not like Trump to telegraph something like this ahead of time. May be an orchestrated ploy to catch the news cycle or build suspense.

...or maybe I'm overthinking it.

Either way, I think Gingrich would make a good Vice President.

He doesn't want the job, he just wants to see if he could win.

Yup. Everyone with common sense knows this. Fortunately, I have faith in the majority of American people.
