I couldn't believe that a grown, supposedly intelligent man could make such a comment about someone's daughter. but here it is, documented in his hometown newspaper. btw, chelsea clinton has become an attractive you ng woman in her own right.

Here's the "joke:"

"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?
Because her father is Janet Reno."

Sen. John McCain (http://www.salon.com/news/1998/06/25newsb.html - broken link), speaking to a Republican dinner, June 1998.

I don't know who it insults more. Chelsea Clinton, Bill Clinton, Janet Reno, or Hillary?

His loose lips may become a problem for him down the road.

Hey, that's funny! His name sounds like it has the word "bomb" in it. And his middle name is Hussein, like Saddam Hussein - the bad guy whose country we invaded. He's the guy that wanted to kill Bush I. Didn't he cause 9-11 too? But what is the "King" part?

Maybe I shouldn't vote for Obama. You've really given me some things to think about. Thanks!

Anyone remember when Rush Limbaugh was doing a segment on his TV show about the "White House dog," and he put a picture of then-teenager Chelsea on the screen?

I'm not Chelsea fan, but that poor girl gets a rough time.

It's hard to tell if there is a point here. Complete sentences are more effective than two words. But in 1998, John McCain was not the Republican nominee for President. Now, he most likely is.

Personally, I could give a rats ass. It's a stupid joke. But he is running for president in the GOP, a party that prides itself on character, dignity, and family values, whatever the hell that is.

Since you like to play with names how do you feel about Dumbya? I'd say it's quite descriptive.

I thought McCain had a little more class than this, low class and defends Dumbya's policies, don't think he'll be getting my vote.

Don't forget that he uses racial epithets to describe Asians:

John McCain's racist remark very troubling (http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/opinion/hongop.shtml - broken link)
