Um, the Trump campaign is not going to publicly admit that they were trying to dump Pence at the very last moment. That would be a nightmare and make Trump look like an even bigger fool and incapable of sticking to a decision. Of course they're going to claim its hogwash.

And, trump will probably be all over twitter overnight, telling us what a loser Bash is, and all the rest of the things he says when a journalist displeases him.

Well, what woman or person of color wanted to run with him?

Trump didn't have a whole lot of choices available to him (and this was self-inflicted).
