Just watched it. Pence seemed solid, definitely doesn't speak off the cuff like Trump and shouldn't say anything to hurt the campaign. Decent chemistry and overall a safe pick.
I agree. Trump needs a VP with a good political background to balance him out.
I think Trumps camping stuff told him to pick pence or they would quit could have been someone from the RNC told Trump to pick pence or they would try to there hardest at the convention to have someone else get the nomination.
Donald trying to reach to the right to stabilize the ticket has chosen a person who will:
1) cost him votes among LBGT people. He's anti pretty much everything gay.
2)He's an unknown to hispanics.
3)He is already taking heat from the Dems and his vetting is sure to turn up something.
4)He and trump are diametrically opposed on policies on gay rights, women's rights and China.
Donald has made small gaffes. This is his 1st big one and I anticipate he and the Gov will not be getting along soon. He had the chance to select a well known, vetted, and welll liked people. He MAY have just given away the election.
i sort of agree, i think the desire to 'unite the party' might have cost him votes, i dislike the trump ticket a little more this morning because he infused a shot of 'romney blood' into the ticket, i'm anti romney and anyone like him and pence is like him a bit, i like the liberal-trump, i didn't need him to 'unite' a bunch of republicans, trump's appeal to me is that he's essentially a great mix of republican and liberal, i didn't need him to be more conservative.
pence reminds people that if you vote for trump, you're really voting for the republicans and not just for trump.
