It seems disingenuous to assume women only care about abortions, that's like how we assume Latinos only care about Immigration.

Do tell where anyone used the word 'only'.

Largely, Democratic women are going to care about that and they wouldn't be voting for Pence anyway.

In terms of diversity - his stand on LGBT rights are the same as every other religious right Republican.

Legislate the uterus; legislate the bathroom. Guns - who cares?

Not "only" about abortion, women in general care about a lot of things. It isn't "only" about security, and it isn't "only" about guns, and it isn't "only" about LGBT, and it isn't "only" about character. But, the whole package adds up something a woman can support or not support. My point is that there are women who would never vote for someone like that, and with trump's other issues about women, it all adds up to a non-starter for pence with a certain number of women.

It's not really a big deal since you can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time. EVERY candidate has these issues.

Mike Pence is not very popular among Indiana Republicans, who favor the Mitch Daniels types. Pence is not even assured reelection as governor. The Clinton campaign will have a field day bashing Pence.

No but they have to appeal to a larger base than just the angry base. Trump can get 10,000-30,000 at rallies, good for him, but there is a large group protesting against him at each rally and more who just don't think he is right but aren't vocal about it.

I am hoping that Pence is the pick.
It will give Indiana a Democratic governor and a good chance at a Democratic Senator.

I support Don Trump.
I fully support his destruction of the GOP.
Make America Think Again.

As an Indiana voter who dislikes Pence, I can see Pence's departure improving the GOP's chances of keeping the governor's mansion (depending on who the GOP selects as the replacement, of course. John Gregg's main selling point has been that he's not Mike Pence. Otherwise, Gregg doesn't inspire anyone.

It's all about shoring up the homophobes.

Gay marriage and LGBT rights will the top issue this election.
