Pence has a higher office ambitions of his own.

This seems to be a way to attract the religious nuts and the gay bashers who have been unsure about Trump until now and preferred Lying Ted Cruz and Super Low Energy Ben Carson.

At the same time, it should scare the hell out of any Bernie supporters who were thinking that Trump was on their side.

tell me a conservative that is not part of the establishment in washington but has executive experienced that Trump could have picked better than Pence.

Trump can't pick a RINO on a ticket, conservatives will stay home......Pence is an excellent pick to unite the party.

Well one paper seemingly confirmed it, but I still agree with you.

Pence. For some people who are all in with Trump it's like being forced to eat a salad with the lasagna. A salad laced with cyanide.

I don't trust the establishment wing of the party.

He doesn't need to unite conservatives. He had them at "I'll build a wall.". He needs women, latinos, blacks, and college educated whites. I think, though, that all the possible picks that might have had broader appeal, turned him down.
