...sigh...RCP average is Trump 40.4, Clinton at 43.1.

The only poll that has Trump ahead is Rasmussen. Claiming victory 4 months before an election is just asking to get pwned.

Clinton has topped out. The only way she can buy more voters is by stealing more money from the middle class and poor and hiring some more parasitical bureaucrats. That's about it for her. If Trump keeps his mouth shut for a few months he'll move into the lead, and I mean totally shut. He should do what the guy did in the Twilight Zone episode and have his voice box removed.

Again, it's 4 months to the election. Wake me in October, when the numbers matter.

OK, go to sleep. I'm staying awake and working for third-party candidates.

He is going to make an amazing president..
AS the GOP tightens up in which this normal in election cycle, we see the GOP purge ahead.
Ms.. Clintons legal issues have not gone away and the latest is Perjury .

She may lose big in the coals states, because Clinton made clear she does not endorse clean coal.

These elections go back and forth.

The DNC is tumbling fast!

First of all, national poll numbers aren't all that meaningful as aggregates, because elections are decided by the Electoral College - you need 270 of these to win.

State by state polls are more meaningful, because when a candidate wins a state by just a bare majority of the popular vote, that candidate takes all the EC votes of that state (exception is Nebraska).

I remember all the gloating from Republicans in 2012 about Romney being really close in the national polls around this time - without realizing that it's the states that matter.

So go look at the state by state polls for Clinton vs. Trump, especially in the so-called swing states.

Think also TIMING:

Trump may get a post-convention bounce after next week (to what extent, we don't know because there's a lot of strife within the GOP over supporting or not supporting him).

Also remember that Clinton is going to get post convention bounce TOO after the Dems meet.

So wait in about 3-4 weeks and see.

You really don't know the pattern nor timing of political campaigns and the significance of polling at certain intervals.

Trump will get a bit of a bounce from the Convention, so it's likely he'll pull even.

Clinton will ALSO get a bounce after the DNC in two weeks as well.

BUT, national polls aren't as significant as you think other than bragging rights. The state polls are more important because elections are won by Electoral College votes. This does make it possible for a candidate to take a minority of the popular vote nationally but win decisively in the EC.

Clinton has invested resources into field operations (boots on the ground) while Trump has neglected that. He loves to brag about campaigning on the cheap and it will cost him in terms of a GOTV effort. It's not glamorous but it's necessary for follow up.

I do agree with you that Trump should just shut up. But both you and I know the likelihood of that is virtually nil!

If the amount of money spent on That CORPORATE HO's campaign doesn't show Tards what a FREAKIN Farce elections are.......

If it looks like hillary is being beaten, she will be pulled and replaced with Biden warren at the last minute.

What this does is forcing the repubs spend all their energy and time on clinton and in the dems desperation will take a chance running an unchallenged biden against trump with no time on the clock. the choice will temper the dem crossover to trump and its a fresh candidate that avoided the scrutiny of the opposite party. Biden vs Trump is the dems best chance and what they will end up doing.

Hillary is expendable for the cause. No strategy will be out of bounds for this extremely critical moment for the socialists. They gained too much ground under obama to lose it now. anything goes and it will
