Trump should prove he believes in his message and pay the $6 million himself. Trump has the money, Trump can write the check. He's a billionaire, right? That's what he's always saying. He won't miss six million dollars.
Hillary should pay for hers, too, she has the money. If it's good enough for Trump, it's good enough for Hillary. You know, if she believes in her message.

Maybe she has? Apparently Hillary and the DNC have enough money to pay for the convention. They have not alienated so many segments of the country that sponsors are fleeing to avoid being associated with the kind of hatred Trump has been spewing.
But since Trump is the sole reason the RNC can't get sponsors for the GOP convention, he can just write a check. He is the cause, he can pay for the damages.

It's Trump that is having trouble firing up his donor base. Clinton apparently has no issues firing hers up.
I had read that many of the sponsors had decided not to support the convention prior to the campaign season starting. I think most like to put their money where it will buy them some favors, so that may explain some of it.
I couldn't find the article, both google and yahoo have stripped a lot of the articles that I had, you bet they did. This is our chance not to be controlled by google, Time Warner, etc. They will take our country from us in the name of profits in their pockets like the crooked Hillary.
Hopefully the money will be adequate. If the RNC was just as corrupt as the DNC, they would be set too.

Among those to signal in recent days that they won't sponsor the convention this year are Wells Fargo & Co., United Parcel Service Inc., Motorola Solutions Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co., Ford Motor Co., and Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. All of those companies sponsored the previous Republican conclave, in Tampa, Florida, in 2012.
None would comment publicly on the reason for the decision or say whether Trump played a role. Many said they wouldn't support the Democratic convention either.
In Philadelphia, Rendell is also finding that some civic and corporate leaders "are tapped out" after rallying support for the pope's visit last year. Still, he said, nearly every large corporation and law firm has contributed to the bipartisan effort of hosting the convention, he said.
Emily Lauer, a spokeswoman for Cleveland 2016 Host Committee, said fundraising for the Republican National Convention is further along than it was in prior years. The host committees in Tampa in 2012 and Minneapolis-St. Paul in 2008 had raised only about half of their budgets by this point, she said.
How is it liberals' fault if R donors are refusing to honor their pledges to fund the R convention????
I'm sure the shortfall will be made up somehow, but the fact remains that a number of R deep pockets - among them, the Kochs - don't want to pay for the convention that will nominate Trump.

Everything is the fault of Obama or liberals to the right wingers. They have no personal accountability or responsibility. It has nothing to do with an ineffective Congress or a disastrous former republican president or xenophobic nominee. It is all the fault of liberals and Obama.
Perhaps, a few bake sales in the trailer park or an increase in membership dues to the Aryan Botherhood could raise the funds Trump needs for his convention. It's worth a try.

Perhaps these guys should downsize their convention. Maybe soda and popcorn at the American Legion?
A major stumbling block is the fact that Trump still hasn't converted his original loan to his campaign to a donation the way he promised he'd do. The big donators don't want to give the campaign money as long as there's a chance what they give will end up in Trump's personal bank account via having the campaign pay himself back for that loan before other expenses are paid out.
