I am sick of career electricians and plumbers. First-time unlicensed DIY'ers are best qualified to fix my problems in my basement.

It's not like people haven't wished for a businessman in the oval office. Well here' the best chance this country has ever had.

His focus was from the inside out. He's the only candidate I can remember that appears to be speaking to me, Joe Citizen. He didn't sound like he was sitting inside Washington with special interests chained to his ankles.

Every candidate before him, and I mean everyone, always speaks with promises. They present their beliefs with us having no clue how they can accomplish all of these things. IMO Trump will empower government and it's individuals to do a job with the focus on American Citizens. I'm not going to dismiss his words as empty promises because Hillary will do the same thing. At the end of the day, the president still has to have his/her inner battles with government to affect policy. Trump is the strongest I've seen to fight the corruption from the inside. But, we'll have to wait until next week to compare.
In terms of fighting corruption, we don't have to wait. Clinton is bought and paid for. She gets $200,000 per speech.

Trumps baggage is what he has said about different ethnic groups. He tried to back away from these statements last night. For many, he is still frightening.

What makes this guy tick is still unknown. What makes Clinton tick is crystal clear.

Those damn doctors and nurses are also a big problem. I would much rather have my neighbor do the surgery and let a cashier be my nurse. It would be so much better.

And that's what voting for change is all about. This November we'll have the choice for true change because of the unknown presidential hopeful Trump. This is truly an election where you are willing to put an insider lying corrupt politician back in the White House, or take that chance on something new. Sure Trump is big business and has dealt with government and understands a lot of its inner workings. I'm thinking he's seen enough. And please, no one should throw his bankruptcy's or how he has "hurt" people while he makes millions. What he's done is utilize systems already in place, and has been smart enough to still come out ahead. There will always be collateral damage, but maybe I'd take a chance on his versus every insider politician's collateral damage before him.

Ivanka talked about affordable child care being a priority and Trump employing more women managers than men managers in their company.

Trump mentioned support for LGBT for the first time at an RNC convention I can ever recall. Trump will be inclusive.

He will prioritize job growth, improving education, affordable health care reform, national security, etc.

Trump will shake up the corrupt, crony status quo in Washington.

There will be more of the same, more of the same damn thing, if we elect Hillary.

Trump will change the paradigm in Washington.

Now lets see how he does in the debates.....

I agree. The choice between Trump and Clinton is a choice between a giant gamble vs. a sure thing. Some people have reached the end of their rope and will vote for Trump. Others are fine with political corruption as usual and will vote for Clinton. And others are on the precipice and don't know which way to go.

you think Clinton will give details how she is going to pay for all her proposals at her acceptance speech? we would all fall asleep.

Santa Claus and the Eastern Bunny combine will be next week in Philly.....more welfare and more handouts.
Actually Clinton probably will, just the math won't add up and it will be platitudes and cliches like "the rich will pay their fair share." "We will increase this tax on the wealthy." But the math won't work.

I fear the math won't work on Trump's plan either.

Under current laws that Republicans and Democrats passed in congress and Obama signed into law, if nothing changes our annual national deficit will steadily rise to $1,366,000,000,000.00 a year in 2026.

This assumes NO high rise in the historically high interest rates.

If every electrician and plumber you hired was a career one and your basement was a disaster after each one...you yourself might become a DIYer.

At least 33% of the population doesn't mind paying for incompetent and corrupt career electricians and plumbers because that is who they are. They are entirely comfortable with a continuance of corruption in government because they benefit from it. It's not a universal truth that people hate corruption. Some love it as did the Royal Court of old.

And Obama's speech claimed he would fight terrorism and end our national debt.
