Reid's been in office way to long - that's why we need term limits - he's been a leech on the system for years

Every person who retires from the US Senate should show what they were worth when they were elected and what they are worth now.

You should all read Extortion: How Politicians Extract Your Money, Buy Votes, and Line Their Own Pockets by Peter Schweizer.

It hits both Republicans and Democrats.

On second thought, since I don't live in NV, I just don't care.
One of my sons DOES live in NV, and the above testimonial to Reid is not what I hear from him.

Once, while on another website, I saw someone call democrats "demorrhoids" --- and the image that popped into my mind was Harry Reid.

Hardly. The only reason Reid didn't suffer any potential legal consequences for lying about Romney not paying his taxes is that he uttered those words while standing on the only piece of ground on the entire planet where he would be unquestionably protected from any consequences....the floor of the U.S. Senate (just a coincidence, I'm sure ). At some point after the 2012 election I watched a sit down interview with Reid. The interviewer asked a long winded question raking Reid over the coals and asking him among other things why he lied about Romney not paying his taxes. Reid exhibited a sly smile during the whole long winded question. When the interviewer got to the end of the question, Reid didn't bother denying anything the interviewer had said...he just smiled a bigger smile and said "He (Romney) didn't get elected, did he" . The ends justify the means....the means be da**ed.

Sorry, I didn't see this before posting my last post. Your post (this post) comes before the lvmensch post I replied to, but after lvmensch's initial post. Either lvmensch didn't read along the thread between his posts, or he conveniently ignored your post (this post), as he doesn't address this post at all in his latter post.

He is the prefect example, the Mafia still has influence in Nevada.

Politics. Whether Reid believed it or not is irrelevant.

Romney had a simple answer available. He did not use it. It would be reasonable to speculate that Romney thought he would take more damage from releasing his taxes than from Reid's charge.

Reid is certainly a political creature.
