A lot more people now in the basket Hillary labels deplorable.
I think it's more a mixture of having to smoke him and ensure he doesn't look Presidential. The same goes for Trump. This is more about coming off as being ready for the job. Which means he can't repeat primary performances and simply ramble on stage.

True, but it's one poll as well. I wouldn't place too much stock in it. Polling was even high for her there when things were bad in July. Need a few more to see how that state will go.

Default Trump went from 3% to 19% with blacks in 4 days!

The USC Dornsife / LA Times Presidential Election "Daybreak" Poll | Understanding America Study

If you click, Characteristics of Candidate Support, you will see the cross tabs.

Trump made a stunning jump from 3% to 19% among blacks.

Is it possible "deplorables" reminds blacks of how they had been treated in the past?

Ah yes, the good ol dornslife poll. Every time Trump gets 5 extra black voters to express support conservatives come out showing how he is appealing to them. No matter the fact that every other poll has him in single digits.

And, how is it that a poll that shows trump leading in something isn't just as 'rigged' as all the other polls have been?

Not a lot of state polls to compare, but in many states, their results aren't out of line with other pollsters. For example:

Texas - Emerson +6, Texas Lyceum +7, PPP +6

Georgia - Emerson +6, Fox 5 +4, NBC/WSJ/Marist +2, CBS News/You Gov +4

New Hampshire - Emerson +5, Marist +2, PPP +5 (all for Clinton)

Maine CD2 - Emerson +5, SurveyUSA +10 (both for Trump)

Missouri - Emerson +12, SurveyMonkey +11, SurveyUSA +10, Ipsos +21 (all Trump)

Some but in others they have been off. I just prefer to go with the averages. Yeah it's possible he is up in Colorado but she has had a healthy lead there all year. Chances are it's off. Remember he has polled in the 20's there several times. What is clear is that this will be the first time in a lonnnnnggggggggggg time that the debates actually matter. Be interesting to see the effects.
