How embarrising for this guy and how foolish of the Obama campaign! Do they not insist that their national spokespeople have at least a rudimentary understanding of Obama's accomplishments?

Good for Chris Matthews! It's about time they start scrutinizing him. At least one person is having "buyers remorse".
Chris Matthews Humiliates State Senator Kirk Watson On MSNBC - Media on The Huffington Post

I can name a few:

- Voted AGAINST a cap on credit card interest rates
- Voted FOR Dick Cheney's Energy Policy
- Continually voted FOR continuing to fund the Iraq war after he said he wouldn't.

Here's a list of his votes. More specifically, a record of the HIGH instances of NOT VOTING. By this list, he FAILED TO VOTE 136 times.
Project Vote Smart - Senator Barack H. Obama Jr. - Voting Record

Doesn't Obama's health plan MANDATE coverage for Children? Why then did he NOT VOTE to re-authorize CHIP????
Project Vote Smart - Senator Barack Obama on HR 976 - State ChildrenÂ’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Reauthorization

Yikes, you'd think the Texas senator would have done a bit more homework.
It seems to me that leadership means more than mere legislation, but I do agree that there needs to be substance behind the rhetoric.

Some legislative triumphs from Illinois:

* A law requiring confessions made to the police to be videotaped. This was initially opposed by, well, everyone, but Obama prevailed and it passed the Senate by 35-0.
* He passed Illinois' first earned income tax credit
* He passed the state's first campaign finance reform law in 25 years, making Illinois one of the "best in the nation" on campaign reform, according to the Washington Post.

One Republican state senator, Kirk Dillard, has said Obama has a "unique" ability "to deal with extremely complex issues, to reach across the aisle and to deal with diverse people."

Im willing to overlook all of this because I believe Barack Obama is what America needs NOW. The last 10 primaries show that many people feel the same way.

You're willing to overlook the fact that nobody, including his own National spokespeople, know NOTHING about a person who is a candidate for President of the United States? You sure are brave to support another G.W. Bush!

This is yet another blatant example of how completely uninformed and brainwashed Obama's cult members truly are.

What is it that "America needs NOW" that he can provide? Plagiarized speeches? A black President? A man who has only been in the Senate 2 years and NEVER votes? A puppet?

More importantly, If you don't know what he has done, how can be so sure what he will do? I think he has sold you people a bill of goods. Hopefully, we may never have to find out.

Here you go again with your gift of taking a small thing and making hugely exaggerated generalizations. One numbnut state senator from Texas does not equal Obama's "own National spokespeople." And then from that little fallacy, you go on to equate Obama with Bush? Talk about knowing nothing, you seem to be describing your own inadequacies.

The irony is that PRESIDENTS DON'T VOTE ON OR WRITE LAWS. (Unless you are Bush who writes that he's above the laws in his "signing statements"). Yah, that Texan is an idiot, but he's a state senator in Texas, what do you expect? He's not in the Obama campaign.

As far as Obama's voting record goes, this is why Senators rarely get elected. People with no in depth knowledge of the legislation and its hundred of pages take one simple aspect of it and point and say "LOOK, he voted against this or that!" without looking into the whole bill or reasoning or context.

We are not electing Obama to be a legislator. We are electing him to be our next President, someone to execute the laws, not write them. Someone who can hopefully rise above the fray, not add to the political fodder.

How many bills did Bush write? Vote on? None
How many bills did Clinton write? Vote on? None

For those of you Obama supporters with AT&T Wireless service, be sure and text the word "VOTE" to "0666" on March 4th if you live in Texas or Ohio. And maybe Obama will become.....the next....."American Idol"!

I expect ANYBODY that is chosen to go on TV to support a candidate to have the decency to know something about the person. It's a sign of Obama's growing arrogance. The fact that most of you still say "It's no big deal" is very telling indeed.

Surely you aren't so naive as to believe that the Obama campaign didn't specifically choose Kirk Watson as their spokesmen for that interview are are you?

Good lord that was funny. You can actually hear people laughing in the newsroom, in the background.

The other interviewee, Senator Tubbs, who supports Hillary, was just glowing after that. She was delighted about the situation.

We're waiting to hear the resounding accomplishments of John McCain. List please. Don't forget his attempt to force the Amnesty for Illegal Aliens "Dream Act" down our throats.

FYI: Senator Watson is not Obama's "National Spokesperson" as titled in your thread (assuming it was an innocent mistake). He's just someone who "supports" Obama. He doesn't work on Obama's campaign. But yes, the guy should have been better prepared for the interview. He's fired.
