Trump is simply regurgitating what the GOP, Fox News and the right-wing media (even respectable outlets like National Review) have been saying for years. When they denigrated Kerry's military service, accused people who were against the Iraq war as being anti-American terrorist sympathizers, and gave winks to the birthers and the Obama conspiracy nutjobs, they were going to get this type of nominee sooner or later.

Exactly. He has been given multiple opportunities to walk back what he said and toe the party line. But he doesn't, he just reiterates "founded, founded, founded." I personally think it's because he's scared ****less about follow up questions and being asked to explain any details about Obama's policies and what he would do differently. But less than half a brain explains it too.
