Well if that is where the bar is set then there aren't many Republicans that have anything worth saying or listening too, which ought to tell you something.
It's not that I think his endorsement carries weight with anyone, but it does certainly indicate that Donnie's comments the past couple of days may truly translate into lost votes with a undecided voters breaking the other way.

He is Democrat that supports Clinton - stop the presses!!! He is very pro-abortion. Hillary plans to increase the number of abortions including partial birth (pulling the baby into the birth canal, stabbing it to death, pushing it back in the womb and letting it come out dead). They equal a match made in Hell. I'm glad he didn't endorse Trump!

One can quibble with Lieberman's own political views, but the point is that we're seeing a trend of major political officials, past and present, who are nominally or even identified as Republican, finding Trump to be unacceptable as a candidate. This gives cover or acceptability for more GOP leaning voters to even consider pulling the lever for Clinton.
It's funny that Trump couldn't even reel in Lieberman. After all, if any former prominent Democratic officeholder should have been there for Trump's taking, it would be Lieberman.
He endorsed John McCain in 2008 and campaigned for him.
He refused to endorse Obama's reelection in 2012, though he didn't endorse Romney, either.
Basically, for years Lieberman has been the go-to Democrat for Republicans looking for someone on the other side to shiv one of their own.
Yes, yes, I know - who really wants Lieberman anyway? Good point. But then, who really wants Scott flippin' Baio, who Trump trotted out as a speaker during his convention's opening night? In a world where Chachi is worth lining up as a supporter, Lieberman must be, too.
Too bad. Trump couldn't get him. Oh, well! Maybe Baio will come back and hit the trail for Mr. Trump. Or maybe that Duck Dynasty guy. Such is the state of what passes for big-name Republican celebrities these days!
