Yes, I'd primarily vote for McCain because of his fiscal policies. He voted against the Bush tax cuts, not to mention he's always been fiscally conservative.

Let's be realistic -- no one is going to be able to get us out of Iraq anytime soon. It just isn't going to happen.

Our country's finances are going to h#ll in a handbasket though, and we need to elect someone fiscally conservative. That WOULD NOT be Obama.

On the issue of Republican voters -- aren't you guys familiar with freeping and LGF? If you look in internet chatrooms/forums, you'll find all kinds of people voting for Obama in the primary as a vote against Hillary (in the places where they can do that kind of thing). Then they plan to vote for McCain in the general election. So, once again the Dems do themselves in... I wish they would close all the primaries and not allow cross-voting.

It's hard to believe that no one got suspicious when the guy who funded that "Swiftboat Veterans for Truth" campaign gave money to the Obama campaign... Why would Pubbies fund him?

Because they wanted an unelectable candidate to beat Hillary.

Guess that's why I didn't go into politics, I thought Hilary was more "unelectable" than Obama because she had a high percentage of people who disliked her.

If I remember correctly a similar thing was claimed by the Bush campaign when running against John McCain in 2000. They claimed McCain was winning primaries on the strength of Democratic crossover votes. Well, die hard Republicans fell for it and rallied behind George Bush.

Could it be that Rove and company are employing the same strategy here? Hoping that Democrats will rally behind Hillary, giving Rove and the Republicans the candidate that all the polls show is the most beatable-Hillary Clinton.
