Trump's doing it and hopefully the trend will continue. He's basically doing exactly what he criticized current politicians of doing during the primary season. Politicians will say and do things to get elected and stay elected.

The press are just salivating over the prospect of discrediting Trump. If Trump just stops the bleeding that would be good enough for most supporters.
