I really tried to get behind Cruz, as he was the closest to a constitutional conservative as there was among the last four or five standing, but couldn't get past his religious creepiness. And I'm somewhat of a religious person myself. Kasich is a solid RINO and wishy-washy on the 2nd amendment. Rubio and Carson were non-starters, as they seemed half-dead most of the time. I guess Rand Paul would have been my choice, but he didn't seem to be able to get most regular Republicans excited about what he had to say. I liked that he has continually argued for less involvement in the middle east, and has the Libertarian views of smaller government, without some of the more controversial L. positions. Would have been interesting to see if he could have carried some of the D. vote.

Kasich would have a shot. The other ones were/are to extreme to steal votes from the liberal base.

Rubio. That two-week meltdown killed his chances. Cruz was too disliked to win.

Constitutional conservatism is the equivalent of being a biblical fundementaliat/literalist.

I agree. It was too much of a hot mess from the very beginning.

You obviously have a foolish conclusive statement without any backup to support it predicting an unpredictable future. SO you're either being foolish or you are a troll thread starter.

To the question, Kasich would have had the best shot to beat Hillary and Rubio would have beaten her almost certainly. I don't think any other Republicans would likely beat Hitlery.

It's really hard to say. I am amazed that Trump is still polling as well as he is, and my only guess is that it's because Hillary is so unlikable. I think Cruz' overpandering to the religious right would have made him unelectable, but who knows what would have happened after primary season ended. He certainly wouldn't be doing any worse than Trump. I think either Rubio or Kasich would be beating HRC. Romney should have sat out 2012 and ran this time. He would likely have won.

Just dont have my face buried in the sand refusing to see the obvious. Polls say part of the story. Trump complaining about the polls being rigged, the media being rigged, the votes being rigged tells me he knows he lost too. Plus his hiring of Bannon and his moves to build his own TV network after he loses tell me he is losing. Not being a troll. I am being polite and respectful. What will you learn about what your party has to do if it wishes to win the Presidency ?
