The average American is a Centrist, at least over the last 40 years. Democrats have had a slightly liberal social agenda, Republicans have had a slightly conservative fiscal agenda. Most people don't WANT candidates with extreme liberal or extreme conservative positions. The candidates that do are usually flamboyant and draw all the media attention, and their supporters make the most noise on forums like this and in the Twitterverse but when you come right down to it, most citizens are in favor of moving carefully into the future, and don't want huge shifts in policy or government.

First of all I would say that most that support Trump don't care a rat's booty what "prominent" Republicans or Democrats rattle on about. I am surprised that is even in question at this point. We are voting for Trump because of the Republicans on the list versus not voting for Trump because we so highly respect the actions and opinions of establishment politicians/candidates.

So, I mean, the list wasn't that long, I bet in the last 5 minutes, more than that climbed on the Trump Train bound for victory!

In fact a few have simply said they would not support him, not they were supporting her: not quite the same.
They are Hillary talking points most likely distributed by the campaign. GearHeadDave was busted a few days ago by someone else that pointed out he was posting things almost word for word that another Hillary supporter here was posting. It was very clear that it was just a speaking point directly from the campaign with a few words changed between GearHeadDave and the other poster.

Now THAT is definitely not in question. The one thing that is common to most Trump supporters is that they have zero respect for anyone other than themselves. War veterans, gold star families and civil servants than have spent decades in our legislatures doing a thankless job - throw them under the bus and use their legacies to win an election at any cost. Zero integrity candidate.

I think there will be a lot of strange bedfellows in this election, both ways. I'm a middle of the road person, socially somewhat liberal, fiscally much more conservative. Both Clinton and Trump scare me, but for vastly different reasons. Sure, Clinton has the "experience" to be president. But she has more negative baggage than a 100 car freight train, lies with seeming ease, and now of course we see she has trouble physically standing up as well. I don't recall we've ever had a candidate for president topple over, stumble, or frequently need a stool to climb in her Suburban. Together, all these issues sure give one pause at the very least.

Trump....well what can you say. He's got no practical experience in government, he shoots his mouth off before thinking many times, he frequently says crazy over the top statements etc... Quite honestly though, some of his free wheeling thoughts are refreshing. I'm so tired of carefully scripted pandering political speeches that blather on about one thing or another using platitudes, lofty thoughts...and yet nothing ever comes of it. Perhaps we need more free wheeling thinkers in our government and those who aren't afraid to upset the applecart. Bernie was actually a breath of fresh air...but the dems sure quashed him didn't they.

That being said, I'm not sure I could hold my nose effectively enough, or long enough to vote for Clinton.

In the recent past I kept hoping some dark horse candidate would appear out of the woodwork that I could get behind....doesn't appear that is going to happen, so I guess at this point, my vote is Trumps to lose. We'll see what happens between now and election day that may change my mind.

Or, or, explain how Con man Don siphoned off his fan club's 100+ million dollars to keep his family kleptocracy afloat. THAT would explain why he had only 4 million for its intended purpose!

Establishment politicians voting for an establishment politician. Whoa talk about a shocker.
There is a reason a weak candidate like Sanders did as well as he did against Hillary and there is a reason a guy like Trump is holding his own against Clinton. Americans are tired of the establishment and the career politicians.

LOL!^^^^

Yeah, sure they know "how to run a country" --- how to run it right into the ground.

Those on the list are part of the ones who are beholden to their mega-rich donors and thus put said donors ahead of their constituents. In other words, those on the list have been a "disaster". Wake up and smell the coffee!

so if a bunch of Republicans are voting for Hillary, it shouldn't be this close.....right?

Hillary has the media, the establishment, all the super pac money and many "republicans" voting for her....so what's the problem?

she should be 15% to 20% ahead in the polls.
