he was one of what, 16 or 17 rivals for the gop nominee? there was a pretty good opportunity right there to get rid of him.

Very nice! The one thing that some people never got and will never get is that this is a movement of the people with Trump as the messenger. People who have been watching and demanding the politicians do something and the politicians sent them a form letter thanking them for their concern and nothing beyond that.
