So he's voting for the guy that asked why we can't just use nukes, said that he would bomb the hell out of ISIS, said that he would blow boats out of the water for making gestures?

Really?

It's funny because usually Dems are painted as doves, but he's trying to say that Hillary and Obama are too hawkish. JFK was no dove, as others have pointed out. RFK's greatest legacy is in civil rights. Trump flunks that test.

The fact that this senile guy wrote speeches is supposed to carry some weight? Who cares? He doesn't even remember what JFK or RFK were about. If he can find his way to the polling place, and can figure out how to vote, his vote counts for one... like everyone else's.

Both parties really are war hawks. The only decade we had any real peace or at least no major threats, was the 1920s, and part of the 1930s.

Yes. This election will result in a President Clinton or a President Trump, NEITHER of whom is a peace candidate - and neither of them is running as one. Between the two, the options are to vote for the one who has done some actual thinking or the one who tweets in haste and retracts at leisure.

Or one could put it, the one who has already screwed up, armed the terrorists and lied about it or the one likely to screw up.

Either way you put it, not a great choice.

Rather then JFK, I would say a much stronger argument could be made for Franklin D Roosevelt not recognizing today's Democrats.

The Democratic Party's leadership have pretty much abandoned the labor movement/working class/middle class in favor of the Corporate establishment's pursuit of "free trade" and a massive influx of cheap labor. IMHO, as I said before, these days there really is not a whole lot of difference between a Bush and a Clinton.

Regarding JFK, was he really a leader of peace? Not attacking him just saying I am not sure. Probably better then LBJ, but we will never know how far JFK was going to go in Vietnam.

A legislative assistant who worked for RFK totally disagree with the speechwriter.

"Writing as a former legislative assistant to Senator Robert F. Kennedy and an enthusiastic supporter of Hillary Clinton for president, I was disappointed to see in Politico the screed written by my former colleague, Adam Walinsky, excoriating Clinton’s record on foreign policy and national security and going on to conclude that Donald Trump should therefore be elected president. It is one thing to disagree with Secretary Clinton, which Walinsky does heatedly, and quite another to turn to Donald Trump..."

"...All the evidence, provided again and again by Donald Trump’s own mouth, tells us not that he is a man of peace, but that he is a man of no principle—a man who will say, and possibly do, whatever happens to cross his mind at a given minute. He is like the weather in New England: If you don’t like it, wait a minute. We do not know what he believes because he does not know what he believes. We do not know what he knows because, from all we can see, he does not know much..."
