The Progressives, in both political parties use identity politics to gain a base, but once that has been established, it is a war to gain any more support.

The political classes have us at each others throats. We are are in a nasty war of ideas, where one wants to silence the ideas of the other at all cost possible. Whether it be nasty attacks, or down right corruption and lies, the war if fought in different ways and on different levels.

Will the next generation play into the identity politics, or will they cast it out, to speak freely and non-PC, in a rebellion of control?

The perfect spokesman to explain Identity Politics.

I think they will still be around, how strong they are will surround individual candidates. Until candidates turn the election onto the real issues rather than dog whistles, they won't be in the forefront. Right now we see far too many dog-whistles.

No -- otherwise there wouldn't be a (D) party.

That's gonna depend on how the millennials define political correctness.

The thing to understand is they are not all white, nor Christian, nor speak only a single language, nor do they care much about stuff like homosexuality, or transgender, or Anglo heritage.
They are tribal as all getouts, but their tribes are not like the Boomer's tribes, or the GenX tribes. And they don't have much respect for those generations either. Why should they? Only the oldest of them has ever known a time of peace in America. And that was when they were little and young.

The future is theirs. Just like the Greatest Generation, the kids who were born during WWI or before, the Millennials will have 60 years of the 21st century to make their mark, and they will make it. They have the numbers, and not just here; kids their age have the numbers all over the world now, and their world is going to be different than the one we knew, or have now.

There's gonna be a lot of changes as to what's PC or not. It is already happening.

The more pushback they get, the quicker they learn, and they group think, not like any other generation has done.
