I wonder of the NYT will do a follow up story on Tax cheat Al Sharpton and his $4 million in unpaid taxes?
So why are conservatives always saying that the IRS singles out conservatives ????

If the political elite truly wanted to help the people they would simplify the tax code so even you can understand it so you can use it to your benefit. Instead they want it complicated, Hillary wants to make it even more complication, Obamacare made it more complicated. It's more beneficial to keep you ignorant.

Because when they were rightly accused of that, they trotted out this shiny object to deflect attention from their obvious bias.

Good point. Have you read Confessions of Congressman X? He talks about how everyone and their mother in Congress talks about simpler and flatter taxes but noone means it and it will never happen b/c the tax code is Congress' most powerful weapon.

That's one reason I have trouble supporting (ideologically/wholeheartedly) any candidate who does not propose a flat tax. I'll vote for the Trumps of the world but, ideologically, can't get behind any form of progressive/double taxation and all these complicated rules. My approach is similar to Rand Paul when he literally took a chainsaw to the tax code!

ALL businesses take advantage of every one of the 87,000 pages of the tax code to lessen taxes owed. Most of the tax code was written when the democrats were in charge [for 40 years]of writing tax laws. Laws to benefit their donors.
