Bottom line------has Hillary and Obama done anything for the vets except talk about helping them? Didn't even fire anyone at the vet administration when they found all the corruption.
It takes money to adequately reform the VA system, from paying enough for the best technicians and doctors to bringing the medical technology up to date.
the republican controlled congress won't approve the funds to do so. Top VA administrators are relegated to using rubber bands and gaffers tape to keep the system running.
According to statistics released by the Veteran's Administration, our World War II vets are dying at a rate of approximately 492 a day. This means there are approximately only 855,070 veterans remaining of the 16 million who served our nation in World War II. People in the 70s, 80s die unfortunatley everyday. It's called old age.
OMG you really think they are talking about the WWII vets?

So what about the corruption with records thrown in the trash. That has nothing to do with money. Many should be fired but were not.

All I can say about that is when you don't have the budget to hire the best people at all levels, **** happens.
I could tick off at least 14 major operations I've had through the VA that are the only reason I'm alive today. The Phoenix vascular surgical dept. has been in me so many times, we're on a first name basis. The follow up care has been excellent. It's run by the US Military. It doesn't work like civilian care. Just like the military you have to stand in line, get in line, go through the process and fill out all the forms correctly. Lots of people don't want to go through the hassle or are careless on their end. Once you get to the head of the line and complete all the requirements, you get the best care imaginable. These VA care people do it out of a sense of love and responsibility, because God knows that they don't get paid competitively.

I wish I could rep you again.
The VA is my ace in the hole. So far, I've never needed it like you have, but what you say is what all the vets who depend on the VA for their health is exactly the same I have always heard from them.
I know a few vets who have survived for 20 years or more, only because of the VA's dedication.
One guy in particular suddenly became severely epileptic in middle age, and no cause for it has ever been found, so the VA doesn't know if it's service-related or not, but they don't care if it isn't. They have kept him alive ever since the mid-80s, and without his VA meds and regular visits, he would have convulsed to death many times since then.
