Haven't read the comments yet, but Tim Kaine interupted way too much, to the point it was rude. Even though I don't agree with Mike Pence on many issues he was respectful, polite and tried to talk policy. He didn't defend Donald Trumps comments/ insults, instead he just let it go.

Pence should have been given more time on his questions, between all the interuptions from Kaine and the moderator he barely was able to speak.

I think it was a commenter on the 538 blog that said that Tim Kaine looked like a guy running for Veep in 2016. He defended his candidate and kept the focus on statements made by Donald Trump,

Mike Pence looked more like a candidate for President in 2020. He attacked Clinton vociferously, but pointedly ignored the statements that have been made by Trump rather than trying to defend them. Pence was stylistically better, but as far as substance is concerned it was probably a draw.

Both did well given the hand they were playing. The loser was Elaine Guiano (sp?) as she was unable to control the debate.

Possibly, I still wouldn't vote for the guy, but he's a respectable opponent. If Trump becomes president I hope Pence can be there to keep him calm and in touch with reality.

When Pence and Kaine were going back and forth and the moderator kept interrupting then, Pence was able to keep talking without missing a beat. I thought that was pretty impressive, it would be very difficult to keep clear concise sentences when being interrupted. The moderator should have just let them finish off that discussion before moving on. Not being given time to defend themselves shouldn't happen.

I am voting for HRC but Kaine was awful. Kaines performance in this debate was better only then Palins debate. Awful, painful, and dismaying to watch.

Pence flat out denied Trump said things that are recorded. It's not going to look good when that hits the news cycle, and you see a split screen of Trump saying it and Pence denying he said it. VP debates rarely matter. VP candidates, except Palin, rarely impact the race. I think Pence got played tonight. He didn't defend a thing Trump has said and denied Trump ever said it. All anyone has to do play the footage of Trump saying it, and it makes Pence look like even he can't believe the crap Trump says.

Everyone knows he is an establishment, mild contrast to Trump.
