Gary Johnson is polling at about 10% nationally, and even almost at 20% in states like Utah and New Mexico.

He's doing way better than the other 3rd party candidates (Jill Stein, Evan McMullin, etc.).

Do you think it's possible he could win some counties?

The last time a 3rd party candidate won a county was Ross Perot in 1992.

I wouldn't be surprised. Some rural counties in New Mexico, Utah, Alaska, Montana, Colorado, Maine, New Hampshire, etc. could go yellow. Pulling off a state would be a bit harder, although the campaign is now shifting from getting Gary on the national stage and applying their resources to the states I mentioned above. Maybe New Mexico will pull if off for Johnson.

I'm thinking possibly some rural counties in both New Mexico & Nevada could go for Johnson. One that particularly comes to mind is Nye County (Nevada). There are small towns there consisting of independent minded, self employed, or retired people who prefer having most forms of government out of their lives. You see lots of ham radio operators and people basically living off the land around there. If that isn't enough for you, they also have legalized prostitution in the form of brothels.

I think he could. We might be on the verge of the Utah GOP abandoning Trump for Johnson. The governor and a House Rep. have both said they will not be voting for Trump or Clinton. Considering Johnson has gotten other high level endorsements there, I could see some more Republicans endorsing Johnson.

In 2012 he didn't have near the momentum and support he has his year. Johnson was polling within striking distance in New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado. I think he has a real chance of beating Trump in those states now.

Trump and Clinton continue to destroy each other in a war of words. Johnson is the clear winner in their battle. Johnson can make no more gaffes and needs to hit Clinton and Trump hard on their corruption, lies, and unpresidential temperaments.

Trump lost my dads vote last night, he didn't like Trump, but thought he was better then Hillary. My dad is no longer voting for either of them.

Allow me to agree with your dad, but I have felt the same way ever since the primaries: I can't support Hillary nor Donald. Hillary is corrupt, untrustworthy, and I disagree with many of her policies. Besides that, I simply DO NOT want Bill Clinton in the White House again. Trump on the other hand has some good ideas, but I think his Berlin styled border fence idea is ridiculous. I see him as nothing but a bozo who secretly wants Hillary to win. After all, he was a Democrat not too long ago, and actually supported Hillary in 2008!

I've even lost respect for Johnson because of his lack of knowledge about international affairs. I cut him some slack about the Aleppo thing, but when he didn't even know who the leader of North Korea is, and couldn't name one single world leader, it really left me shaking my head. He doesn't come across as very bright. Weld should have been the nominee! Even with all this going against Johnson, I'm still going to vote for him. In reality, I'm not voting for Johnson so much as I'm voting for the Libertarian ticket and against the two party corruption.

Here is a speech by Johnson from 10-07-16 and included is his positions on foreign policy. He is obviously knowledgable about most aspect of US foreign policy. More then that, he is exactly right on most issues.

It's about 1 hour in length, but you can skip ahead to the foreign policy section.

Johnsons awful in interviews and when put in the spot. But he is an intelligent man and he knows how to manage people. More then that he doesn't hide behind lies like Trump and Hillary. He doesn't try to lie or dodge questions to the great extent of the other candidates.

I'll agree with that he is not a great speaker and worse on the spot with questions. I still believe he is a very knowledgeable person with great ideas for this country. I trust him to run this Country out of any candidate running. He has my vote.
