Every once in a while, a narcissistic nationalist figurehead pops up and gets the support of the people that article in post 2 talks about. In the past, we ended up with fascist italy and nazi Germany. Fortunately, I believe this time we have enough people here in this country to prevent such a figurehead from taking over.
Stop flattering Trump, he doesn't have the self-discipline to reach that sort of infamy. I've said it before: He could at most aspire to be a Berlusconi, just with less charm - which I, admittedly, would have thought impossible.
That being said, his followers are ripe for the next authoritarian, and he may not be nearly as buffoonish.
I can't believe how gullible some people are. This is the October surprise and fits exactly in the oppo playbook the Dems wrote way back in 2015. They are worried, and should be. The Trump 'scandal' is conveniently staged to deflect from the shocking and incriminating evidence being unloaded daily from Wikileaks.
