No it's not, it's not possible to get an elective abortion the day before you are due. A doctor has a Hippocratic oath to uphold and would not risk his license or freedom to do something so absurd.

If it's not illegal exactly how would said doctor be "risking his/her freedom"? As for the "Hippocratic Oath", it seems $$$$$$$$$ tend to override said oath frequently as evidenced by doctor run pill mills etc. I guess if one lives in a fairy tale world where everyone is noble and honest what you say would be true but the REAL world is not so noble, especially when $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ are involved.

You're the one in the fairy tale world if you think that criminal statutes actually prevent people from breaking the law.

Prevent, no, but deter some? Certainly.

absolute nonsense, anyone who would contemplate violating their Hippocratic oath and taking a life is not going to worry one bit about whether or not they are breaking the law. What those laws attempt to do is to discourage Doctors from performing any abortions because some RWNJ might come along and claim a 13 week fetus is viable.

What a specious argument without any basis in fact. You can do better than hurl insults and falsehoods can't you?

It's not a specious argument, it's an established fact and the pro lifers don't even try to conceal what their real motive is with these laws:

"Often referred to as “20-week abortion bans,” these laws nominally seek to ban abortion after or around 20 weeks’ gestation, though bills in several states effectively ban abortion at 18 weeks. Legal experts believe these laws are unconstitutional on their face because they undermine a key provision of Roe v. Wade, which established the right to an abortion in the United States up until fetal viability, generally determined by doctors to be around 24 weeks’ gestation. Were the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold one of these bans, it would effectively dismantle the backbone of the court’s 1973 decision legalizing abortion in the United States. Anti-choice leaders have been open about their long-view strategy involving 20-week abortion bans—to persuade the high court to overturn the viability principle on which Roe rests."

Except that end term abortions don't exist, except in Trump's "mind".

Forbes Welcome

“There is no such thing as a ninth month abortion.” Those who seek late-term abortions are seeking them before a pregnancy reaches full term but often and unfortunately after they have discovered in the second or third trimester some problem with the fetus or danger to the mother."
