The GOPs chances of keeping the Senate have gone from 34%, to 54% in about two days. Trump has declined a little From 35% to 32%.

Ayotte and Hecks comebacks could mean that people might be holding their nose and voting for Clinton, then a Repub Senate to keep her in check.

Sounds like wishful thinking on your part, as that does happen, but is rare.
More commonly, people vote for one party down ticket. That is why the Democrats were celebrating earlier in the year, thinking a Hillary victory meant them winning the senate as well. If the (R's) keep the senate, that likely means Trump wins as well.
